‘Religion, Psychoanalysis, Marxism’ A Faculty Event

Join us in the Black Box on Sunday 3rd September at 6pm to mark the launch of ‘Religion, Psychoanalysis, Marxism’ a new journal from Everyday Analysis. Their latest publication marks their first printed output and features articles by Slavoj Žižek, Peter Rollins, Cadell Last, Julie Reshe, Matt McManus and Mark Murphy.

The event will be hosted by Alfie Brown and include a reading from Helen Rollins and a short talk by Peter Rollins.

Alfie is the founder of EA and senior lecturer in Digital Media Culture and Technology at Royal Holloway. He is the author of numerous books, including The Playstation Dreamworld and In the Event of Laughter. He writes cultural criticism for publications including The Guardian, The Paris Review, The Independent, New Statesman and Newsweek.

Helen is a writer and filmmaker who lectures in philosophy and art at GCAS. She is a co-host of the art and theory podcast ‘The Lack’ and founded a counter-cultural production company called The Magician’s Niece. She is also the author of Psychocinema (forthcoming).

Peter is a freelance intellectual who specialises in the theory and technology of the Death of God. He’s the author of numerous books, including Insurrection, The Idolatry of God and The Divine Magician, and is the pioneer of a movement called Pyrotheology.

Seedhead Arts is hosting this event under our Faculty lecture series which has been largely dormant since the pandemic but is making a return this autumn.

Admission is free and no tickets are needed.
