Andy Council is a Bristol-based artist who creates composite beasts made up of architectural landmarks and other recognisable elements. In Belfast his piece ‘The Phoenix of Belfast’ became an instant landmark, but has over the years fallen into disrepair… so we’re delighted that Daisy Chain Inc are bringing him back to Belfast thanks to support from Belfast City Council’s Entries Project. And just in time for Hit the North. Huzzah!

He often incorporates collaboration with communities in his process; identifying local and personal landmarks with people which are then included in the pieces. His work takes the form of illustration, painting and murals which can be seen across the UK and beyond. Andy has pieces in Bristol City Museum's permanent collection and two large scale works in Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, London. He has exhibited in the US and has had his work published internationally.
