HIT THE NORTH ARTIST 2023
MyfanwyNia
Harriet, known artistically as MyfanwyNia (a combination of her two middle names), is a multidisciplinary visual artist from South Wales who spent most of her childhood living in the South East urban environment of inner city London. Being of Irish descent, her parents bought a cottage in rural County Leitrim in the late 90s, and Harriet has been based in Leitrim ever since, now with her own little family. With over a decade of experience exhibiting work in solo and group shows across Ireland and the UK, Harriet is a member of the Minaw Collective, and her vibrant and playful pieces can be seen in public spaces throughout Ireland. She is a recipient of the prestigious RDS Taylor Art Award and holds a Degree in Fine Art from Sligo IT and a Masters of Fine Art from the University of Ulster in Belfast. Her playful and whimsical pieces often feature distinctive big-eyed feminine characters and explore themes of childhood, fantasy, and identity.
