HIT THE NORTH ARTISTS 2023
Rob Hilken
RobH paints walls characterised by repetition, isometric shapes, heavy use of pattern, text containing positive messages, food imagery (especially fruit and fried eggs), and a bold use of colour. He repeats shapes and images to create a visual rhythm, and isometric shapes add an illusion of depth and movement. His playful use of food imagery adds a light-hearted touch, making his messages about consumer culture and identity more accessible. Larger walls often reflect local heritage and culture such as the linen industry in Banbridge or the outstanding natural beauty of the UNESCO Geopark in Killeshandra, Co. Cavan.
