HIT THE NORTH ARTISTS 2025

GLEN MOLLOY

NORTHERN IRELAND

Glen has been a key figure in Belfast’s creative scene since the late ’80s, starting with graffiti before gaining international recognition as a DJ and later shifting his focus to visual arts.

As a DJ, he has played alongside internationally renowned artists such as Moby, Primal Scream, and Faithless, to name just a few. He earned admiration as one of Andrew Weatherall’s favorite DJs and contributed to David Holmes’ seminal album This Film’s Crap Let’s Slash the Seats, providing the scratching on the single Gritty Shaker as well as creating the artwork and featuring in its promo video, which was played extensively on MTV.

In recent years, Glen’s murals have become a defining feature of Belfast’s urban landscape, paying homage to cultural icons and local legends. His work has been featured in Line of Duty, Blue Lights, and Kneecap’s breakthrough video C.E.A.R.T.A.. Often appearing in off-the-beaten-track locations, his pieces transform forgotten, mundane spaces into striking urban canvases. His murals not only bring life to unexpected places but also redefine how people interact with their surroundings through art. His ability to merge music and visual art has earned him international recognition, with his paintings receiving acclaim from rapper and film star Ice Cube, as well as legendary DJs Fatboy Slim and Carl Cox. This has further solidified his reputation as a groundbreaking and pioneering artist across multiple creative disciplines.
