The Incrementals - KMG

As it's Hit the North season and we had to cancel our last recording we're doing two Incremental recordings in four days. KMG is in town so we're going to go to our usual Wednesday spot in a coffee shop called Hjem which is in the UU Belfat Building off Cathedral Gardens.

We first met Katie in 2022 when we invited her to paint at Hit the North. We gave her this wall that was massive and she smashed it so next year we gave her the biggest wall we've ever painted as part of the festival at Trademarket

In a short time she's become a firm friend of Seedhead and therefore a perfect person for an Incremental's podcast

As usual tickets are free but limited and the recording will be released on our Patreon shortly after the event.

Here's a bit about her from her website...

KMG is a Scottish based artist who has been making work on the street for over a decade.

Her recent work explores themes of mythology, community and the history of our local landscapes, using Characters as a means of connecting with the viewer and engaging them in dialogue. Using these themes to question the connections of our environments to our heritage and cultural identity and how these translate to the current day creates a heavy presence and thread within her work.

With a strong belief in the power of art, KMG also regularly works with community groups, healthcare and educational institutions to help make art as accessible as possible.

The Incrementals - Caolan Mcbride

A new quarterly event from Seedhead Arts looking at the specifics of being a independent creative. Doors at 5pm, we start about 5.30.

How does being an individual who’s in business differ from a corporation? What do you want from ‘work’? How do you achieve work/life balance when you believe that what you’re doing is important? AND WHATS THE BLOODY POINT OF IT ALL????

In this our eighth event we'll be talking to our old friend Caolan McBride

As usual tickets are free but limited and the recording will be released on our Patreon shortly after the event.

In this our fifth event we'll be talking to KVLR. If you know anything about Belfast Street art then you know that Kev is an instrumental figure. The orignal Belfast street artist who rarely gives interviews. We'll be talking about what it was like when the only Belfast street art was political murals and how things began to change and a bunch of other shite.

Over coming events we'll be exploring the idea that when society seems to be at breaking point we need new ways of seeing money and work and value and identity and community. Is it nuts to think that creatives can help? And what does that loSo we enjoyed our last recording so much we've decided not to wait till next month to do another but take advantage of the fact that Holly Pereira is in town and get her on. In a break from tradition we're going to try it on a Wednesday in a coffee shop called Hjem which is in the UU Belfat Building off Cathedral Gardens.

We first met Holly in 2018 when we invited her to paint at Hit the North. I have a vivid memory of when Benen and I were sorting out the paint order and when we had her colours together we both looked at each other and nodded approvingly. Since then we've tried to work with her as much as we can... which can be hard as she's also a singer, designer and TV presenter... and probably more we haven't even herad of.

More than that though she has such a powerful energy about her - we really wanted to dig a bit into what makes her tick.

As usual tickets are free but limited and the recording will be released on our Patreon shortly after the event.

Over comingWe chat with local legend Graeme Watson about the Belfast Comedy scene, his role in getting it going, and what happened when it went nuts

It's time for a new season of The Incrementals. We've a new venue and we're going to do it every two months instead of every quarter because... well because we've actually just loved telling the stories of Belfast's arts scene that no-one else seems to give a shit about.

This episode we'll be joined by Graeme Watson. You probably don't know who he is but there's people selling out shows in the SSE off the back of his work. We've worked with Graeme for over 15 years, he hasn't been about as much recently but we think his work has an amazing legacy and also he's funny as f*ck so it shuld be a good one. events we'll be exploring the idea that when society seems to be at breaking point we need new ways of seeing money and work and value and identity and community. Is it nuts to think that creatives can help? And what does that look like?

The Incrementals - ROb hilken

A new quarterly event from Seedhead Arts in partnership with Bullitt and Hennessy NI looking at the specifics of being a freelance creative.

How does being an individual who’s in business differ from a corporation? What do you want from ‘work’? How do you achieve work/life balance when you believe that what you’re doing is important? AND WHATS THE BLOODY POINT OF IT ALL????

In this our third event we'll be talking to Rob Hilken. We've got to know Rob pretty well in the last few years as we set up Vault Artist Studios together and every time we go drinking with him we find out he did a differnt job. He's done it all... but now he's a street artist. And a f***ing good one. So we'll be talking career paths, taking big leaps, smashing capitalism and repetative shapes.

Over coming events we'll be exploring the idea that when society seems to be at breaking point we need new ways of seeing money and work and value and identity and community. Is it nuts to think that creatives can help? And what does that look like?
